Michole Biancosino is a freelance director who lives and works in New York City.  Michole specializes in directing new plays and enjoys the process of developing a script with the playwright.

She is a co-founding Artistic Director of Project Y Theatre Company, where she recently directed the world premiere of Samuel Brett Williams The Revival at TheatreRow Studios on 42nd Street. With Project Y she has also directed David Rabe’s In the Boom Boom Room, Judith Thompson’s The CrackwalkerWhite Biting Dog, and Lion in the StreetsOne Flea Spare by Naomi Wallace, Zastrozzi by George Walker in Washington, D.C., and the world premiere of Either/Or by Dan O’Brien at the New York Fringe Festival.

Michole produces a bi-monthly new play reading series at various bars, cafes, and theaters throughout NYC, featuring the work of up and coming American playwrights and an annual video monologue series.  As a founder of the New Orleans Theatre Experiment, she produced and directed The Trashbag Tourist and Bobby Hebert at the Fine Arts Center, as well as Baby Boom at the New Orleans Fringe and her own one woman show, Therese Raquin Desire at the Marigny Theatre.  She teaches acting at the New York Film Academy, she’s a regular guest artist at Rutgers University, and works with Tina Howe’s MFA playwrights at Hunter College.

Michole is a recipient of the prestigious S.D.C.F. Gielgud Fellowship for Directing.  She holds a B.A. from Middlebury College and an M.F.A. in Directing from Rutgers University.
