Holy Cow! Reading Series: New Play by Lee Blessing

We are excited to announce our next reading series: HOLY COW! Plays about religion, faith, and life after death.
Our first reading will be this coming Sunday, March 25th at 7pm at TheatreLab located at 137 West 14th Street, 3rd Floor, Studio C.
We will be reading A USER’S GUIDE TO HELL: Featuring Bernard Madoff, a new play by Lee Blessing.
In the time after his downfall, Bernard Madoff is taken on a tour of hell (New York City) by Verge and encounters its various denizens before he learns the truth.
About the Playwright: Blessing’s plays have been produced on Broadway (A Walk In the Woods ) and off Broadway (A Body of Water, Going to St. Ives, Thief River, Cobb, Chesapeake, Eleemosynary, and Down the Road) as well as internationally in Japan, South Africa, France, Brazil, Russia, and London’s West End. The Signature Theatre in New York City dedicated its 1992-1993 season to Blessing’s work, premiering Patient A. His other plays include an adaptation of Thorton Wilder’s Heaven’s My Destination, Lonesome Hollow, Flag Day, Whores, The Scottish Play, Black Sheep, The Winning Streak, Independence, Riches, Oldtimers Game, Nice People Dancing to Good Country Music, and Perilous Night. His works have been critically acclaimed, the most notable being A Walk in the Woods, for which he was a Pulitzer Prize finalist (1987) and a nominee for both the Tony Award and Olivier Award for best play (1988). He was awarded the Humanitas Prize for Cooperstown in 1993. Other awards Blessing has received are The American Theatre Critics Circle Award, The L.A. Drama Critics Award, The Great American Play Award, and The George and Elisabeth Morton Award.
